No oil pressure

No oil pressure
I started my 521 ford up last saturday and it had no oil pressure so I replaced and the gauge and still no pressure. I pulled the distributor and the oil pump shaft is not broke and roll pin in the distributor is not broke I took the oil filter off and it know oil came out when I turned it over
Last time it ran was a week ago and it had 78 lbs of oil pressure when it started and the engine has about 60 miles on it and it has a melling high volume pump what could be wrong with it?

Maybe you have some blockage where your sending unit bolts to the block or in the oil line leading to the gauge. Could be a piece of gasket or a sliver of metal left over from building your engine wedged in somewhere blocking the gauge off.

Well the oil pump is driven by the
distributor and the distributor is driven by the cam, and the cam is drivin (timing chain) by the crank which is tied into the flywheel. I would first take the cap off of the distributor and see if the rotor turns. If the rotor turns then i would think that the oil pump took a dive and since you said that it started for you but has no oil pressure i would replace the pump. ( Un less when you take off the pan you find that the pickup fell off or is cloged ) Just to make sure you did make sure that the drive for the oil pump is seated in the pump correct, and your oil level is full ?
