94, 3.0, Clockspring, modulator

Re: Modulator...Attempted replacement. What I thought was the whole thing turning was actually just the head. When I got it to come off, the head snapped off the stem. I now have about 3/4 inch of stem sticking out of the tranny with no way to clamp on to remove the rest of the modulator. (The interior pin did come out, I'll save it.) Looks like I'll have to cut the cat. conv. out of the way to allow tool access for extraction.

Re: Clockspring...Got replacements from wrecking yard. (10$) The drawback to that is that the junked units are just as old as my van and they fail due to age. The plastic ribbon does get brittle over time. The best replacement from the junkyard lasted 2 months.
It would be nice to somehow find out what years and models use that particular clockspring. Maybe pick up a newer unit at the junkyard. New is $90.00 here at the dealer.
