Axle gear replacement?
I have a 94 f150, 351. according to axle tag, it has a 355 open end gear ratio, after popping the cover off tonight, speedometer has been acting up, narrowed it down to ring in rearend, was missing 3 teeth, anyway, 1/3 of my pinion shaft was broke off. how much is going to cost to replace my gears or do I need to just replace the pinion shaft?

it will cost you a lot i suggest getting a good diff from a junkyard with 3.55 maybe a posi if you can find one. if you have broken gear teeth all the gears need to be replaced as well as all the bearings i'm not 100% sure of the cost but i'd estimate around 6-7hrs shop time and roughly $400 for parts. it's a painstaking process to corectly install the ring and pinion. if your backlash is just a few thousands of an inch out you will have a noisy diff. good luck on this one

Your total cost will likely be in the $1k mark, at least around here. I highly recommend having a shop do the gears, like 77red does, but for a different reason. If the gears are not installed correctly, not only is it noisy, but you will eat the rearend up in a heartbeat and have the same problem again.
Try a salvage yard, they will usually give you a 60 or 90 warranty. That will give you plenty of time to make sure it is good.
