I have used a 2nd wire harness and a mustang computer to change my 89 f-150 to MAF. The wireing diagram that i have for the mustang ECM does not show the value of the resistor that comes off the coil. If anyone out there can find the resistor value on a diagram they have, it would save my day.
It should be the same as the one on the truck. Are you cutting and splicing harnesses? If so, I'd use everything from the truck harness that you can, and add the new injector wiring and maf wiring, and be sure to change the tad and tab pin locations. If you haven't seen this website: http://brembs.net/cars/maf_conversion/ I recommend checking it out. It is very informative. I completed the swap too, and I'm about to get it working right.
ya, i have already moved the pins for the tab and tad, as well as adding in the FMP pin to the computer. I have used all of the truck harness, just added the MAF and the SEFI harnnes i made.
i just wanted to know cause the resistor is from the coil and goes into the ECM, so if the value was a big change i did not want to fry the ECM of have it not get enough of a signal. i know the tach works off of frequency, but if the voltage was too low it could not see the change.
