I just got my SPA tranny temp gauge and now i have to figure on where to mount it. Has any one here had any experiences with A pillar pods for single gauge. If so, where is the best place to get ahold of these. Any comments or suggestions would be great!!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Feb-02 AT 05:13 PM (EST)]I looked at the A-pillar gauge setup and was thinking about doing a multi-gauge install, but after spending my $$ on a Banks Stinger and Transcommand, I decided to just go with a single steering column-mounted Autometer tranny temp gauge. I just ordered the gauge and mount from DSI last week.
Woops- quick edit here- maybe the steering column mount isn't such a great idea for an SPA gauge- it might be a little difficult to reach past the steering wheel to hit the buttons
Good luck,

I went with a single gauge pod mount on the A-pillar when I put in my tranny temp gauge. I got the gauge and the pod from Summit racing. I went with the Auto Meter Z-series, Summit part #2640 tranny temp gauge, and the Auto Meter single gauge pod, Summit part #15307. I got the vinyl paint from Ford. The parts guy had a partial can of paint and I got it for eight bucks. I really wanted to install the sender into the tranny cooler line coming off of the tranny, but opted for the port coming directly out of the tranny itself. I put the pod just high enough so I could dust under it or if I decide to get a dashmat. Other than that I wanted low enough so it wouldn't cause a blind spot. Some guys get a new A-pillar molding and install the pod on it then install the whole works on the truck pillar. I think the molding is 30-40 bucks at Ford. JPS

I just installed the 3 gauge A-pillar mount on my 1999 F250 SD Lariat 4x4 CC SB PSD. They are the Autometer EGT, Boost and tranny temp. I got them from SuperdutyHeadquarters.com (their web site only gives a photo and phone #)and is not all of the way up. Their phone (480) 633-2929. Mine cost about $550 installed.
The gauges are awsome and doesn't affect the visibility very much at all.
I just finished ordering the Autometer single gauge steering column mount from Geno's Garage. $43 + $3.95 shipping. Going to add a SPA temp/temp gauge this weekend (tranny/coolant).
