Question Volume controls on Wheel

I have ordered my 2004 F-150 Lariat. Should arrive in early April. I can't wait.

Question - I am going to be replacing the stock stereo with My JVC SH909. Does anyone know if the volume controls on the steering wheel will control the volume on the JVC? Would the wiring harness that you need to buy to hook it up have it set up for it. The JVC has a remote control for volume, track up/down etc.

Any info would be a great help.

2004 Lariat Black/Arizona Beige 2 Tone Black interior Loaded with everything!!!! Super cool!!!

I' m sorry, I can't answer your question about the wiring harness. I can tell you that the 6-disc with Audiophile is the "BEST" stereo system I have ever had in a vehicle. If you ordered this option I don't think that you will want to replace it. I had Bose, Pioneer, and Kenwood. My buddy has an infinity. He also agreed that there was absolutely no comparison. The bass and clarity are awesome. I am afraid to crank it wide open, I'm not sure if the speakers will blow or the windows!

If you spend thousands of dollars on receiver, amp, speakers etc., I sure there are better. For the money, this is the "BEST"!
If you didn't order this option, you should have, because it sounds to me like you enjoy your music as much as I do.

There is a separate kit available ( most likely for the 04 F-150 by now ) that costs about $50-75, it manipulates the steering wheel controls to an aftermarket head unit!! If i had a lariat, it would be a must. Just make sure a qualified installer can get to the back of your steering wheel!

Check out this nifty interface from Peripheral....
It takes a little to program (like a universal remote) but works great.

I totally agree with Tag1 that the audiophile is the best stock option system out there. I HAVE turned it up all the way and I can say there was NO distortion and it was so loud it hurt my ear drums and I love loud music! THUMPING bass from the sub woofer and the highs and mids were awesome. I wouldn't trade it for any system now that I have it! Finally Ford is taking care of us music buffs.
