Does anyone make a hub conversion kit for a 98 Mazda B3000? I looked at Milemarker's website and they only list conversion kits for the 97 and older B3000's. Do i still need the vacume pump? It is a shift on the fly, don't i need to plug the vacume line going to the center disconect in order for it to work correctly?
ummmm.....this is a ford board (haha that rhymed) i know that ford owns Mazda but Mazda still bulds their trucks the way they always have...That's prolly why no one has said anything but hopefully maybe someone will. might try the ranger section!
The Ranger and the mazda are the exact same truck, I own one if you look under the hood it says "Manufactured by ford for mazda". the only diff. is the box

i know that's what it says.....but are they exactly the same? have you done a personal comparo? have you even run p/n's b/t the 2 trucks? just b/c ford owns and manufacturs it doesn't mean it is built the way ford would build it!
if you have one why can't you help him out? hubs are easy!
Mazda builds the 4 banger that you find in most fords.
My brother owns a 92 ranger w/5spd. mazda tranny.
My friend's mom owned a 92 mazda that had the exact same drivetrain and options.
I always thought the 4x4 ones had standard auto hubs and the wheel cover just covered them up.
My bosses buddy had a 2003 fx4 ranger w/ the v6 and auto tranny, he had too drive backwards to unlock the hubs, so thats the only thing I know about them.
FACTORY RACING
mazda 94-up well i have a 94 mazda b 3000 3.0 well besides body like front grille, tale lights, and a few words ingraved in body parts like (mazda) and maybe a few other things...

under neth where it matters most you'll find the famous ovel shape with the famous four letter word stamped FORD well if you look in Haynes Repair Manual for mazda pick up they tell you look under ford ranger 94 on
just a lil bit info
You know....i looked (Warn, Superwinch, MileMarker) and i don't even see that they sell hubs for a 98 Ranger, much less a conversion kit! And yes i looked for a 98 Mazda as well and I don't see anything for them above a 97 either. You would think since apparently Mazda and Rangers were so exact then somone besides me (nothing but fullsizes in my driveway) could answer you. Also a little searching could have gone a long way! Happy to help though
if you are converting to manual hubs from autos then no you don't need the vaccum that the autos required! And I am not sure about the disconnect but i would assume you would keep it! I dunno though, nothing but 350's in my driveway

Uh, no.
The Lima 2.3L is Ford--tell those SVO guys they're racing with Mazda engines and you'll get laughed at. The Duratech is Ford as well.
The Mazda engine was that 1.9l in the Escort and the Mazda equivalent. Basically, maybe some FWD engines were Mazda, but definately NOT RWD based engines.
The tranny is about all that's Mazda made.
Someone mentioned that Mazda makes their own trucks...actually, outside of North America, Rangers are Mazda rebadges. Opposite of N/A.
Anyway, I've heard that Warn made a kit for South American Rabger/B-trucks, but for some reason, it ain't coming here yet.
