HELP No place will do an alignment

Hello all i have been searching for about 2 months to find a place in northern NJ/NYC area that will do a wheel alignment on my 1988 EB Bronco. they just keep telling me "No I'm sorry we can't do that on a truck that big." I am sick oh hearing excuses from them... Has anyone had this problem????? does anyone know where i can go get this done???? i will travel as far as 2.5 hours away to get this done.

Can someone please help me. Hell if i could i would do it myself...

THanks again everyone.

You will usually get that from the normal alignment shops. Try checking a 4x4 shop. They deal with just that...big 4x4s. Not sure of the location to you...but here are3 of em in NY.

4X4 BUILDERS HARDWARE
367 SAW MILL RIVER RD
YONKERS, NY
(914) 665-7224

4X4 HANDYMAN CORP
215 LONGFELLOW DR
CARMEL, NY
(845) 228-5580

BILL'S VAN & 4X4 CTR
606 CONEY ISLAND AVE
BROOKLYN, NY
(718) 435-5500

And here is a link for 5 of em in NJ.

Not sure if its an option, but have you tried youre local dealership? There would be no reason for them not to do it. I have had mine aligned at my local dealer a few times, with perfect results each time.

Can't see what the big deal is, its not like you are running 44s or anything. I have had my Bronco in for an alignment running 33X12.5X15s with no dramas. The laser modules attach to the rims, not the tires. I wonder wht the hangups are at those shops?

Glad you found a place - I encountered the same problem right after I got my Bronco. I live just East of Atlanta and could only find one place in my town that would even touch it.

Got the same run-around - truck too big...tires too big...I can only do what computer tells me, and that's not a Honda...blah blah blah.

Heck, I got a nail in my tire last summer and I stopped at the Goodyear up the street from my office to have it fixed. They wouldn't even do that - the guy said they were not trained to work on tires like that. Funny, they had a nice display of 33's and larger on the showroom floor...

Kinda makes you wonder how they did it before they had the fancy computerized equipment

Toe in can be set with a tape measure, camber can be set with a carpenters level, and for caster, you can make your own gauge.

It just seems like most people can't do anything without a computer! I go to a parts store and ask for a part. If it's not in the computer then it don't exist. They don't even know how to look up a part in a paper catalog. Sheesh!
Ok, I'll stop ranting now.

It also depends on the type of lift you're running. If you build you're own kit like I did on my old grand cherokee, I left off alot of stuff and legaly they can't touch the vehicle until you have certain compnents installed.
