Ok, I get the feeling this shouldn't be happening. I'm getting a lot of grease on my front wheels. It's obviously coming from the hub area...you can tell from the splatter trails. It must be ok, because I just had into dealership last week, and they worked on the front end...and should have noticed it?? :-X23
It's been doing this since day one; 3200 miles ago.
Actually, this is a common occurance that hasn't seemed to hurt anything so far. I don't remember why, but the trucks do sling stuff out of the hub area. My '00 did it... my '01 does it. Might try a search here & F-D for more info.
My '01 F250 did it also. Noticed it the first time I used 4wd. By the time I got it to the dealer the vehicle was clean w/ no trace of grease. They could not find any immediate problem. At least I have it documented if I have future problems.
Well if you remember, I'd like to hear a reasonable explaination as to why a truck would leak it's vital fluids and lubricants.
That's just plain odd. I don't have any evidence of grease or anything like it. It's a good thing, I'd probably freak out though. All them years of Army maintenance. Didn't matter if it ran, just so long as it didn't leak.
