It would probably be easiest to just swap out the EFI manifold and front cover in favor of carbureted units. The fuel injection is possible, but it would require some wiring on your part, although it shouldn't be too difficult if you wanted to go that route. You would need a computer and complete wiring harness for sure. You would also need to somehow rig up a high pressure fuel delivery system, as well as a return line to the tank(s). Might be easier on an truck originally carbureted to stay with a carburetor just for simplicity's sake. Not saying that EFI can't be done by any means, but carb'd would be easier.

that's what i expected. what front cover are you talking about that i will have to swap? also what type of manifold will i have to install? will a normal carbed 351W manifold fit? i know i will need to install a fuel pump. oh yeah, what about the distributor?

The timing chain cover (front cover) for a carbureted engine has a mount for the mechanical fuel pump, and is set up for a standard rotation water pump. Any 351W carbureted intake manifold would work, and there are a couple things you can do for a distributor. If it's just going to be a stock engine, you can get a stock replacement distributor and run a duraspark type ignition. Or you could get an MSD distributor and run a 6 series ignition box with it if the engine is going to be more performance oriented than stock. We're getting away from what I know about when we start talking carburetors, so I'm not going to be much help with that aspect. Someone else can probably give you a better idea of what you will need ignition wise.
