Glow plug relay

Ive got a 2001 f-250 it has had trouble cold starting, i put new 850 CCA batteries in a month ago with little improvment, and also checked glow plugs and they were fine. Looking again today i noticed the big positive terminal on the relay was extremly hot after starting, it had even burnt the rubber boot off of the connection. I am thinking i need a new relay any suggestions???????????????

I had the same thing on a 1999 I worked on for a friend. Replaced the relay, cleaned all connections VERY well - problem gone. Did not replace the cable.

You may want to carry an extra with you - mine left me 60 miles back in the middle of nowhere when the terminal completely burned out. For the $75 part, it's certainly worth carrying an extra.
