I have diagnosed the problem with my 99 XLT Expy to be a bad blend door actuator.
Now, has anybody changed or can anybody tell me where the actuator is, I do not have climate control, they are the manual controls. Do I have to tear the whole dash apart or is it fairly accessable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to fix it myself but I don't know where it is.
not positive on this but one of the guys i worked with just had his blend door actuactor replaced his is a 1999 it was done under warranty he told me the dealer book time on the job is 6 hours i belive is what he said as far as the job itself he said what he could tell the dealer removed the passanger seat and center colum and went up through that to replace the door actuactor but he was not there the whole time but he said the dealer called him 3 hours later to tell him job was done it did not sound like a fun job good luck hope this helps
The Explorer blend door fix will NOT work on your Expedition. The blend door motor is at the bottom and not on the top. Look at some of my previous posts...and if you email me, I will send you pictures.
