To me they are the only shock. They work the same day one to day thousands and one. In the RV world, they are practically the only shock. Huge difference.
On my Rv I used to have to saw the wheel back and forth when it was windy. The RV would sway back and forth. Then I put Bilsteins on. Totally different vehicle. My wife said she wasn't riding in the RV when windy anymore. Took her out with the new shocks and she's happy.
I have them on my Superduty and will have them on the Excursion as soon as we decide on lifting or not.
They are definitely stiffer. My X has the feel of being tight, No washboard feel at all, quick recovery on bumps. My X feels more like a truck than a Cadillac, which is what I want.
That is exactly what I am looking for STIFF, it should help the when changing lanes pulling a trailer over semi truck rutted roads……….?
Waht part number did you use. or is there a choice.
Front part # BE5-6208-HO
Back part # BE5-6209-HO
These are the part numbers as listed on the Bilstein.com website and they came up when I chose my year-make-model on bestforeign parts.com. Yes they will help your rough road, but remember, go gotta get that Hellwig installed man! The shocks only took about 10 minutes each to install and the sway bar took a couple hours. The hard part is figuring out which nuts and washers go where. As previously advertised the install instructions suck.
bigslurrp………….interesting name……….I have the Heilweg in the garage. Have not installed yet on my 03, it will be soon. (rear only) However, with the knowledge about the shocks from you, (thanks) I might just get them and do it all at once. I really want shocks that are on a scale of one to ten 8/9 stiffer on rebound and compression than the OEM stuff.???
