86 Bronco will not start

Hi guys - this is my first post. But reading many of the problems on this post - I can see that I am not alone on this Valentine's day. I have owned my 86 B2 - auto, 2.9, 4x4. Eddie Bauer for 7 years. Yesterday, I drove home for lunch and when I went to leave for work - my B2 would not start. Here is what I have checked or replaced.

All vacuum seems good.
New fuel filter
Fuel pumps are in working order
New fuel pressure regulator
Recently replaced plugs look good
Checked ignition module (TFI) - it is OK
Checked ignition coil - it is good

Here is the kicker. The engine will crank, but not fire. If I press the gas to the floor and crank for 15secs or so, the B2 will finally fire up, chug out the excess flooded gas and then run perfectly fine (no misses, no bad timing indications, no poor vaccum). But as soon as I start it off, it won't fire again, unless I press the gas to the boards and crank for another 15secs.

Could it be a weak distributer (spark). Or a problem with the injectors? I am still leaning towards a problem in the fuel system?

Can anyone tell me whats going on here?
I would appreciate it more than I can tell you
THANK YOU.
John

Here are the codes i am getting:

42 - HEGO (oxygen sensor)
51 - ECT - (can someone explain what this is?)
63 - TP - (can someone explain this also?)
34 - EXP - (can someone explain this to me too)

THANKS AGAIN.

Those codes are KOEO run with the engine warmed up, correct? I'll look up the pinpoint tests for them.

it might be that your distributor drive gear is worn and is throwing the timing off unknowingly

Faskpakr - Is there somewhere I can look up those KOEO codes? I have a Haynes Repair manual, but I couldn't find the definitions for:
63-TP
or
34-EXP
I was hoping to find out what those initials stand for. Any suggestions?? Thanks

87MarkVIILSC - I'll write that on the list of possibles. MY work continues. Thanks

ONE MORE THING. I found out the code 51 -ECT - stands for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. This is not the sensor that connects to the dash gauge, but it is the one that connects to the onboard computer. Supposedly, if this sensor goes bad, the B2 will think that it is extremely cold outside (i.e. -40). Does anyone know if this sensor could be what is stopping my B2 from starting? Thanks everyone.

Rip out that section of the Haynes manual and throw it in the trash. It makes no differentiation by year, provides no pinpoint tests, etc... It's absolutely worthless. If you can, the absolute best thing you can get is the Ford H manual for the appropriate year. I have one for 86, I'll try to look up the pinpoint codes tonight and get back with them. It may be tomorrow night before I have a chance though, just as fair warning.

Well, the problem was with the ECT (Engine Cooling Temp Sendor). We traced the problem back to a faulty connection. I had recently replaced the alternator and the ECT wiring runs from under the front of the plenum below the altnernator. I must have bumping the wiring enough to break the connection.

I'm back running at 100%. Perfect as usual.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem ---> you might need to either replace the sensor itself or double check that all wiring is OK.

Thanks eveyone for your help.
