1) is the stock 5.0 in my 88 F150 roller or flat tappet?
2) If I convert my 5.0 to roller (if its already not a roller) I will be using a stock 87-95 Mustang GT cam. How will my computer and SEFI react? The cam is a 215HP piece in stock trim with E7 heads.
Your 88 150 will not have a roller cam in it. It will just be a regular hydraulic lifters. If you use a roller cam in that block you'll have to drill and tap it in the lifter galley to use factory type hydraulic roller lifters, or use a roller cam retro kit. The cam will work with your computor, but you should convert to Mass Air to make it work better if your going to start changing things around.
I knew about the roller conversion requirements. I converted the 1994 5.0 HO EFI engine to a carbed setup in my 63 Mercury but stayed with the roller cam. What is involved in the Mass air conversion? Parts and etc.
