Ive got a problem in the transmission area. ive got a 66 f-100 352
4spd standard . My problem is everytime i let off the gas in any gear there is a loud and annoying click that comes from the shifter area. Ive looked around the transmission area and dont see anything unusul.
Anybody got any ideas?
I have an idea but you might not like it. Sometimes your thrust bearing (crank main bearing) will wear with manual trannies. This can cause the crank to slide back and forth and the flywheel can smack the bellhousing. This is probably the worst case scenario but it is a possibility.
Sounds like your throw out bearing has either got to much clearance from the pressure plate, or it's going out. Try adjusting the slack out of the linkage rod next to the bellhousing. Or it may just need to be greased.
