I have been putting ~1/2 bottle of the white Power Service additive per tankful this winter. Could this become a problem? Can you add too much or can there be a cumulative effect? We have had a cold winter and I like the anti-gelling component.
The folks at power service have been very friendly and helpful to me. You might want to give them a call if you have lingering questions. One thing that I learned is that there is a limit to the effectiveness of adding "more".
I inavertantly overdosed with Diesel Kleen this week. I was multitasking, idling, refueling and adding DK all at the same time. Possibly some folk could do this smoothly but I ended up pouring 20 oz DK into my rear tank with 2 gallons of fuel in it. Thats not bad, cept...I was running off that tank while refueling the front tank. 20 oz in 2-3 gal fuel. Kinda rich in juice!
Well the truck sputtered a few times, the first sputter it ever emitted in 83K miles. The remainder of the day I was stalling and hesitating. I thought I disolved alll the internal engine gaskets or somthing.
Well, it was just my cam position sensor going bad. The OD of DK was inconsequential.
I have very consistant driving patterns and habbits. If the DK helps with mileage I'll post it here.
thanks to Quad I found a new cps at a great price ($91). Thanks Quad!
