Steering system

I have a 1973 highboy and it has manual steering i was looking at putting power steering in because i have 36's right now and am going to be going much bigger in the future and it sucks turning. What type of system do you guys recommend and what parts am i going to need. This will be the first time i will try it and i want to get all the parts soon, so it will be ready for summer mudding season. Thanks

I would try to find power assist from that year, that would be the easiest, correct me if i am wrong, but 78-9 was the first year of true power steering, not just power assist. You could go with a setup from the late 70's, some custom work would probably need to be done.

The BEST and easiest way to do it is to adapt a pre78' 2wd steering box onto it. it requires some new holes to be drilled, and you have to cut off the end of the highboy pitman arm, and weld it to the 2wd one, but it's not too hard. When it's all said and done, you end up with a very nice, and very powerfull power steering.

Theres a guy on ebay who sells complete kits to do this to, you just bolt it all up. Would be easier if the task seems a bit much for you, but more expensive of course. You'd have to search on ebay to find it, don't have a link handy...
