Re-check those white tags again, could be on either valve cover.

Tim, I've looked at those white tags 100 times trying to find anything that looked like a date. It's got a bar code and "4907". The Blue sticker says 2004 and that's all.

Tim, My engine is the same as pacemakers, I can't find a build date anywhere on the valve covers, there's just a blue sticker that says 2004. Sticker in door jam says 10/03.

500 miles
First tank Gas 13.3 mpg
Found two white stickers on valve covers no date except the blue 2004 sticker.
Hope the Milage gets better. Great power. NO PROBLEMS.

To find your engine build date pop hood raise it up stand by drivers side front fender just in front of drivers side door look between the little shock that holds the hood up and look to the back of the back of the engine there is a tag that says 5 Jan 04 for example.

No problems with my 04 bought in Nov. 4,000 miles Up and down mountains, several below 0 starts without block heater on. Fule 16 mpg. Radio even sounds good. Great engine

I have had mine for 3 weeks; 3 weeks today to be exact. I have 821 miles on mine. I am wicked happy with my truck! This is my second Super Duty, and first diesel. I couldn't be happier!!!!
