you are exactly right when mine was leaking I wiped it off and didnt pull over the holidays no leak thought it was not going to be a problem then started pulling again and leak came back, rear seal replaced 5k ago still no leak, just to show the techs. ability when went to pick up truck it had a terrible noise and vibration at the floor board, went back, tech. put transfercase skid plate on upside down causing bad noise as it was right against the transfer case. and you wonder why the problems dont get solved.

you have a problem mine is ok to idle with engine on no fumes, there was some posts about cracked exhaust manifolds, and also some that were not put together correctly take it to dealer and complain.

READ READ READ READ

Go to this thread, read completely…. Follow, on page 3..MLF250’s format, it is good…and easy! and post. Important update to instructions on page 6.
Most important part of this data...also, there “is” owners out there that have had no problems. To be fare to my methodology… I need the same from the “no problem” owners.. i.e. mileage (mileage is the odometer reading)
important a “no problem” statement if you have had none.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate.
Do not need many words, NO stories.
I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=185570

I implore all 6.0 owners to please take the time

Thanks
Tim

CDTruckN:

I have a June 03 build and while there was that "hanging drip" on the bell housing that I noticed after running about 500 miles, I wiped it off and have been checking ever since. That was back in July and now I have 21000 miles on the truck without ANY LEAKS. The BH has been absolutely dry as a bone ever since. Not even dirt is accumilating in the area (which is an easy way to spot a very small leak). So in my case I do believe it was excess lube as the engine does not leak one drop and that "hanging drip" was the only one ever seen.

F-250, 2004, CC, 6.0, auto. No problems whatsoever, 4300 miles and counting. 14-16 MPG around town. Truck build is 11/03, not sure on the engine build date. the white tags have 4907? Blue tag says 2004.

2004 w/ 8900 miles and no problems. I'm very satisified with the overall quality and performance of this truck. Lots of power and really like the transmission for towing.
