2001 trans cooler

2001 trans cooler

i read on a post about some of the 2001 having a better trans cooler than others, could someone fill me in here, i just bought a 2001 350 and would like to know if i need to upgrade or something

Follow your cooler lines from the tranny to the front of the truck. See if the lines go up into the side of the radiator or to a cooler. The older setup is the stand alone air-to-oil cooler, the update was changing the radiator to one setup with the built in tranny cooler, water-to-oil cooler.

I believe my 2002, has a radiator cooler that then goes to an external.

My '01 F-250 has the radiator cooler in the bottom tank then the external cooler in front of the radiator. I don't have a trans temp gauge, but I'm sure it cools much better than just the external cooler alone.

ok i will check the trans lines, if i have the new setup my trans lines go into the radiator, correct?
