auto locking hubs

auto locking hubs

i have the auto locking hubs on my 84 f150 an when they ingage they make a God aweful clank. i wanted to change them over to manual. any suggestions?

yeah....take your own advice and change them! esp if they are the original stock ones!

you wouldnt know what company i should get or part number do you? do you know if they are one size fits all

go the the local napa or champion or whatever and tell em what you need. Get WARN. They are great.

I just replaced the auto hubs on my pickup, and it was very easy. You might want to pack the bearings while you are at it. This is kind of tricky if you havn't did it before, but is not too hard. Also check all front end conponents for wear while it is apart. I used Superwinch hubs. They are cheaper than Warns, but the Warns have a good rep and are used by many with sucess.

I was talking about the bearings, not the hubs. The hubs are very easy to replace.

bearings AND hubs are easy to replace....I can do both sides, bearings and hubs in 30 minutes!
