well, i didnt mean all ford heads, i was kinda thinking of windsor style heads compared to standard gm heads on a 350.I have been wanting to build a clevor for yrs.Now we are blessed with many aftermarket heads.
I have owned almost all of the trucks made from rice burners to the Big 3, from 1949 to date and they all have their weak points and their strong points. But to the Ford lovers, beware. Ford currently has problems with their 4.6 and 5.4 Tritons blowing plugs out. Just a note if you haven't yet changed your plugs find a mechanic (notice I didn't say Tech) who knows what they are doing. A proper method will save you thousands in head replacement costs. This seems to be an inherit trait and runs across the board on F-150 and Explorer and Excursions using these engines. If you do your own ask and I will tell you how to do it withourt damaging the weak threads in the heads. I personally own a Chev 2500HD 6.0L and love the way it pulls like a freight train. But as a retired mechanic with 30 years in I say to each their own and what ever turns your prop. (Retired Air Force)
GM for 2006, as far as Z71 vehicles go will be giving their trucks and SUVs a high, LEVEL stance(Thank God). The fullsize truck will be geared towards outdoorsmen. Some Z71s sit level from the factory now, but a majority don't, I guess so many people complained they changed. Otherwise you had tighten the torsion bars, or use some kind of Ford Key in the torsion bars to make them sit level.
That just means their ***-end will drag and the headlights will point towards the sky with any ammount of weight in the bed. Morons
