torsion bar?

I have a 2002 Ranger that I adjusted the torsion bar so the front end sits level. My dad has a 2007 F150 XLT that doesnt appear to have a torsion bar. I am looking at trading for a 2010-2012 F150. What year did the F150's stop having torsion bars? Do ALL F150's not have them or does it vary by trim package? If I were to buy a 2010-2012 F150, what would I have to do to make the truck sit level (raise the front end)?
Thanks for your help.

2003 (with the exception of a few 2004 F150 Heritage models) was the last year for torsion bars in the F150. They went to a coil/strut assembly in 2004. In order to level a 2004+ truck you need to use a leveling kit that consists of a spacer that sits on top of the strut assembly. There are several out there. I used the Autospring 2" spacer on mine and I'm very happy with the results.

I've seen specific kits out there for 2wd. Don't know the difference, but assume its subtle design changes in the struts themselves.

You'll have to re-aim your headlights. That's about it. Just need to make sure you read the install directions well, and make sure you disconnect the battery when doing the install if you have a truck with electric assist power steering.

Alignment is also recommended after a LK. If you do this, you are legally required to post pics here

ok so i pulled the trigger on a new 2012 FX4. It does not quite sit level front to back. Where would you look to order a leveling kit from?

Congrats on the new truck!

I would check out this post that discusses the leveling kit (spacer) Vs. a set of bilstein 5100 adjustable height shocks before you pull the trigger on a "spacer" style leveling kit. read the last pharagraph of the first post https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...on-raptor.html

Can get the shocks on amazon

EDIT: couple additions,

Here is an article about spacers vs. the adjustable height shocks. Obviously bias towards bilstein...
