New chip question
Iam think about buying a performance chip for my 1999 super duty psd but iam concerned about its effect on what seems to be the weakest link and thats my transmission everyone says how much firmer it shifts and iam just concerned about stressing out an already stessed tranny. have had to replace the converter at 32000 miles just dont want to add to its problems.

I think you have a legitimate concern. Make sure you have a tranny temp gauge if you "chip" it. horsepower=heat
Trannys aren't cheap and the PSD isn't exactly easy on them.

The firm shifts aren't so much the worry as is the extra power. A hopped-up PSD can exceed the transmission's input rating. Once that happens, the question isn't so much IF the tranny will fail, but when will it fail. Choose your power-adding modifications wisely. A trany temp gauge is an excellent addition to your exhaust temperature gauge.

Thanks guys for the advice more then likely iam going stick with the stock product I guess I have to realize that YOU SHOULDNT MESS WITH A GREAT THING. lol but you no what its not a race truck but it my truck and iam very proud of it. thanks again take care
