Talking I Win The Darwin Award!!!

OK..Note to self...after replacing ball joints, make sure the lug nuts on wheels are TIGHT!!! I went to put my new hubs in today...and a 10 yr old could of taken the lug nuts off. Gawd...talk about being lucky. They were just snug enough to keep the tire from wobbling. OK that is just for starters...the only reason I went to put in the new hubs..cause the passenger side would not disengage and didnt work the same as the drivers side. When I replaced the drivers side hub....all went well....when I did the passenger side, i suddenly saw what I had done....I didnt need to remove the center screw that held the dial on...I did that 3 weeks ago with the ball joints...but didnt put it back together right... DOH!!! But then I thought..when I replaced the rotors about a year ago...I didnt do it right then either...double DOH!!! Hmmm maybe thats why I have only been getting about 10MPG. I had it in there so that the hub was always engaged. OK All is well now...I have new Warn Premiums in there with a good set of factory hubs for back ups. HMMM OHHHH!! So thats what directions are for! hehe

Why do I always have this pile of extra parts any time I work on my truck?

Thats kinda funny bro, but a close call that your wheel did'nt fall off. but I gotta clear things up, to win a darwin award, you had too die from a stupid act. The darwin award is given to people who died from their own stupidity and make are gene pool better.

But my jeans are pretty good... (j/k) I know...its just that I was so damn happy about getting the work done...I forgot to make sure that everything was on right. Not something I usually do. As for the hubs...I should of checked the other side to see how it all went together before I did anything else.

Yea, I i've had close ones before like that. Last year, I was getting my dad's friends VW dune buggy running, it had been sitting in the barn for about 8 years or so. Well, I rebuilt the carb and fixed up some things and got it to run with just a lifter tapping. Soooo, I decide to take a test drive through the trails road on his ranch. Then when I am coming around a turn, I try to brake and I remember that I never checked the brakes, CRAP!! I olmost go through a few barbed wire fences and finnally land the buggy in a small tank, we had too get the truck to pull it out, it fired right up, but I got it back to the barn and procedded to fix the brakes. I think back and I kinda laugh about it.
