performer cam+chip? yes/no?
.I didn't get much response on this (actually none) in the 80-86 forum, so I'll try here...
I'm doing a driveline swap (302, 4x4, probably inducion system from 86 Bronco), and am getting ready to rebuild the motor. I'm planning on putting a Edelbrock performer cam (idle-5,500) in it. The 87 that's receiving all the stuff, is fuel injected too (obviously), but the induction stuff is scattered about and prolly incomplete.
So my questions are:
1)Is there a chip available for the 86 computer?
2)How about the 87?
3)Should I just scrap the idea, throw a carb at it (mighthappenanyways), and quit screwin around?
Frank..

LOL, then on the other hand, I like the idea of it firing up as soon as I hit the key, and the fact that it won't stall out under almost any angle (a good good thing for the 4x4 part of my conversion)....
Baaaahhh, decisions, decisions. I REALLY appreciate you guys responding...Sometimes I wonder if anyone really reads posts

Frank
It may run ok with that cam if no other mods have been made( no cat.converters, headers, etc). The speed density system is designed to cope with a few mods like off-road exhaust and lower gears.
Usually mass-air is recommended with a larger camshaft.
