Stupid Question..............
Hold the two buttons down, when you are in the MPG AVG mode
Hold them for 2 to 4 seconds or until you see the MPG avg go to 0.0
At any time that you reset the Avg Mpg, it starts over averaging the current mpg from that point on. If you reset it while driving, with your foot off the gas, you can get some phenomenal instanteous readings, but it soon starts the averaging again from the RESET point only.
If you don't reset at fillups, and get a lot of miles into the computer, then the mileage will vary little--the longer you go between resets, the more the average will stay near the same.
Miles to empty appears to link the fuel gauge to the speed driven or the rpms or throttle opening to calculate about how far you can go. I have driven up to 18 miles with '0' MTE on the readout.
I have also had as much as +/- 9 gallons left in the tank when it reads "E"
The Ford mileage computer is basically a toy that tells direction.
Wonder how Ford got around the bell curve statistical probability that SOME error readings would be LOW

Some would say it's called corporate fraud
and unfortunately that's typical because most promotions are not based on character but on performance only...
(Stop it! I AM not saying ALLL have no character....)

I have driven owned or driven 9 different Ford trucks and cars since the new F150 came out. All the mileage computers have worked the same, I believe. If you don't reset the Avg Mpg at each fillup, it will average with previous use since the last reset.

It learns form the last three tanks, disconnect the bats and it must re-learn. re-learn, weird word.
