Question NO GAS IN FUEL LINE? '71 F100

I was driving back to work from lunch and my truck just died!
Felt sputtered like it was out of gas, but there's gas in the tank.

The exact same thing happened last week! The auto parts store said to replaced the Fuel pump & filter and battery. (no money spent since the pump & battery was under warranty)

It ran fine yesterday, but today THIS happens again.

Any suggestions?

71 f100; 300-6; Sport

By the way, when I try to start the truck again it wont stay on, like it's not getting gas.

where do you live? Is it cold enough that you could have had water in your gas that froze? Try changing your filter.

You might want to check the lines from the tank to the front. You might have one semi restricted, and it's clogging maybe with particles of ice, or whatever. Heck, I had this problem when it was warm...But mine was rust particle clogged. Particularly the little rubber hose that connects the short metal tank line to the long undercab metal line. MK

Check your connections on your coil.

When it HAPPENS to do it again, get out and look in carb. Pump throttle and see if accel pump squirts any gas. This will determine if it's electrical or fuel related.

Wiggle wires on coil, both positive and neg wire and see if loose or broken. ALso pull on coil wire going to dist. Make sure it is tight in coil. Sometimes it works loose and will fall out. Bend the tabs on wire to make it fit tight.

It does sound like possible soft hoses. Check both pieces(back of cab and at fuel pump). If they feel soft, replace them. They may seem fine, but under SUCTION then will collapse and not let fuel go by.

Also old hoses will crack and suck are instead of fuel. Many times they won't even drip gas but if you have the behind the seat tank it is most likely they would.
