1991 vin #

I just bought a 1991 F250 & I was wondering how can I tell from the vin # if if is a light duty or heavy duty? THANKS....

I am not sure about the VIN number however... one way to tell is the brake booster (if the truck has not been changed) a standard (light duty) booster is 10.6" in diameter while the HD version is 13.5" in diameter. Also the rear brake shoes are different...Standard shoes are 2.5" wide...HD versions are 3.00" wide.

The easiest way is to look on the sticker on the drivers door or door jamb. It tells you GVWR, tire size, axle code, axle weight ratings, transmission code, tire pressures, interior and exterior colors, etc etc.
