hey man thats a badass engine looks great. how much did u put into the engine? and about whats the gas milage your geting on it. im trying to decide to go carb or rebuild the 5.8 efi. if the efi is considerly better gas milage i would probaly have to go with rebuilding. but if if its about the same i would defintely go carb i think there real cool. im thinkin 460 carb about 500hp :X06\m/ again man real nice engine

I've got about $8500 into just the engine. I stayed with a small block because everyone goes big block, I wanted to be different than all the other fast Broncos at Silver Lake dunes. The main Bronco I wanted to beat was one with a 429 Cobrajet in it. I was just slightly faster in a sand drag, but the small block won for me

I stayed with EFI because it is not affected by the camber of climbing the dune faces. I've watched many a strong truck die on the hills because the float bowls of their carbs flooded out the engine. It would have been cheaper without the EFI issues, it should still be converted to MAF instead of speed density to get the most out of that engine.

Of course having that much torque the tranny needed to be built up, twice. And I had to go with a Dana 60 in the rear so the gears would stop tearing off teeth.

Now I'm selling the Bronco, moving on to other trucks after 10 years.

I have heard from several engine guys around my area that aluminum rockers is the worst you could do too your valve train, due too it flexing and the brittleness of the material.
Not trying to start something, but what are you guys opinions on them, compared too steel rockers.

In a high revving engine, yes they are not good. It all depends on what your driving and how. I am not going down the quatermile and not running nitrious, and not going above 5000 R.P.M. and I don't have a monster cam putting a strain on the valve train. I would not put them in a pro-street car, but in my bronco they will be fine!
