250/350 SD springs
Good morning Moonst! I like what you did with your front end, cool! I was sitting next to a new '02 350SD yesterday, and we both noted his springs and mine ('01 250SD)look the same. How can you tell them apart? I've been thinking of upgrading, but what are the odds the boys in Kentucky accidentally did it for me? Thanks, Mike

There are no 'one-ton springs' per se. Each SD (F250 or F350) is built with front springs that are "computer selected" based on option packages and cab configuration. And, both models have the same spring selections to choose from. So, it's very possible to have an F350 with "lighter" front springs than an F250. Plus, all the springs look the same. For the most part, the only differences between them are the rate of deflection (ie. stiffness). We are talking about SRW trucks aren't we? :P

Thanks NoMo. Yes, they are both SRW. We were looking at the rear springs. I'm going to have a Banks TransCommand installed next week, and thought I'd have a set of bags put on the rear end just for that extra "ounce of prevention." When I saw the springs on the new 350SD SRW looking just like mine, I wondered what the difference was. Figured it had to be something to get the GVWR up that additional 1800#. Thanks again, Mike

Man this whole time I thought you were talking about the FRONT springs. My manual didn't cover the code that you mentioned. I'm running all over looking for the answer but it's Sunday...Unless you got a micrometer, you won't notice the difference between the 250 & 350 rear springs. But there is one.
