i'm looking to clay, polish and wax my truck. i'm wondering what the difference in quality is between the paste and liquid. w/meguiars gold class you get 16oz of liquid for the same price as 11oz or paste.
Can't say I know the difference but I use meguiars gold class liquid and I waxed my F150 4 times with the bottle and there is still some liquid in the bottle. Guess I paid around 10 bucks or so at Target.
The differences are that one is a liquid and one is a paste, other than that none. You don't need as much paste as you do liquid, you will go through a bottle of liquid faster than you will the paste.
I always thought that paste wax was suppose to last longer than liquid. I've used some paste waxes that went on/off as easy as a liquid and others that I thought I'd never get off.
Liquids are easier and since they are I figured I'd be more likely (and want to) to wax my vehicle more.
P.S. Meguiar's new formula liquid cleaner wax (the red bottle) is good. It goes on/off great and last preety long too. Some of the warehouse clubs carry it at a good $.
i just did the meguiars 3 step setup. i clayed the whole truck, which made a huge difference, then i did the cleaner, polish, and wax. it looks brand new. i recommend this product. you would never know my truck has 100k miles on it. i'll try and get some pictures up this week.
I used blue coral in 1971 on my car ,young & dumb . Did not read dir. cleaned it & put on sealer on whole car then tryed to remove it 5 Hours later It was off . Read the bottle it said to install in 1- 2 ft squaires at a time & remove . I learned in 1971 to read all the papers & dir. before doing most any thing !!!! Man did the car shine but never will do it again !
Key to the story is if you keep wax on the truck your life is a lot easier. I do mine every two to three months because of the environment. I traded in a 1993 Ranger that was Toreador Red in 1999 for my F-150. The Ranger had 155,000 miles on her and looked good a new. Keep it clean and wax and in the long run waxing will be a lot easier.
