Is the rear axle spring perch width different between '73 F-250's and my '79 Supercab. Are the axles the same width?
I know parts of the frame are narrower on the Highboy's but I am not sure where.
I saved a Dana 60 for my project and now that I am about to start rebuilding it I realize that I let the 60 out of a '75 Supercab camper special go - and I shouldn't have.
The axle I have now was taken from a '73 F-250 and has 4.10 gears and a limited slip carrier. Unfortunately it will only have 16 spline axles which worries me.

The spring perches are 4" narrower for the '73 frame - the axle also looks to be about 4" narrower wheel mounting surface to wms though I do not have an accurate measurement.
I don't mind moving the spring perches but the overall width is a question that needs to be answered before I go farther.
Does anyone know the wheel to wheel axle width difference between the 67-77.5 F-250's and all of the late '70's trucks?
