Friend of mine had his 96 powerstroke stolen, they ripped the ignition out and just drove away...what kind of alarm provides a good starter disabling system..thanks
Check out your local stereo performance shop. You can pay anywhere from $125 all the way up to $550 and maybe higher. All depends on what you want. That is a basic feature on many alarms.
Get a layered system. First layer alarm, Second layer some type no start system. Third layer a physcal barrier. Fourth layer good insurance.
When, regretably after, my first 02 PSD was stolen I learned my lesson. I got a Viper alarm, Cyclops no start system, and a Autolok wheel lock. Still have the good insurance.
I don't recommend the alarm systems that include a starter lock out. If the alarm system fails you may not be able to start your truck a b stranded.
It's a money thing. The trucks will part out for big bucks compared to others. The thiefs are rarely caught. When they are they are let go with a slap and tickle. Don't forget the fourth layer
