7.3 v. 6.0
I just visited the 6.0 forum for a minute and almost without exception the posting are all negative. I had a number of opportunities to buy some very low mile 03 6.0's at really good prices (nearly the same as the 02 7.3's) when shopping for my truck last year and a kind salesman, who looked around to see if anyone was listening, strongly advised us to stick with the 7.3 because it is a proven engine. I am so grateful that I heeded that advice. How could Ford and International let that happen?

i don't know what happened to the 6.0? It is a great engine in the t365 application with International, and i cant understand how the ford engineers couldn't within a reasonable timeframe work the Ford PCM on that motor. Having said that, I love my 7.3 and have no intention of trading her in, but I drove the 6.0, not sure if it was an 03, or 04 recently and can say that if its problems are worked out, that it is a very strong motor. I'm leaning towards thinking it was an 04 because it was considerably louder than I had remembered the last time I heard one up close and I think its because they did away with the split shot injectors and went to something more like what the 7.3 has. Supposed to have solved a lot of the problems it was having. I think it will be trouble free in the near future, its just a shame becuase you know Ford lost some sales while they were having the problems that you were referring to. Look for the next 6.0 to be pretty awesome considering they now have to up the anny due to the new Cummins. Looks to be pretty interesting in the near future.
