I had to replace a couple of PDL actuators (BIG SUPRISE!!!) and when I got to the dealership they said that they had only gotten in the actuators that they were selling me a week ago. Supposedly these are the new and improved ones, but who knows. I put a couple of pictures of them in my gallery. The old style is on the left and the new is on the right in both pictures. Notice the piece that actually physically moves the door lock was made of metal and now is made of plastic.
Anybody else seen these yet? I hope they last for the rest of the time I own the vehicle. I'm sure my left side should be going out any time now.
I am going to ask a stupid question. How do you know if your power lock actuators are going bad? I just bought an X and have seen this issue several times. I looked at this post because just today I had an issue w/the power locks. I ran an errand and when I came back to the truck the doors were locked and I did not lock them w/I left it. It actually did this 2 times today. Later I picked up one of the kids froom school and the doors were locked again. This time I could not unlock them w/the button on the door or the remote. I had to reach across and manually open the door.
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
