CAN ANYONE HELP??? In my 1991 I6 300, F150, it will start and idle beautifully. When I ad power the engine starts to "gargle and " a little, but it's bad enough to cause an uncomfortable jerking. As soon as the rpm get above 2200, (like on the freeway), it runs smooth and powerful. NO "check engine" light or codes. The truck has all new plugs, wires, cap.
I just took off my throttle body to clean it for the same reason and discovered that the gasket was half gone. I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body and installed a new gasket and it runs 100% better.
Does this issue only occur when it is extremely hot outside? I had this problem with my 1994 F 150 with the I6, 300 motor. It only happened during the hottest days/months, and only after the engine was very warm.
hey guys i kinda have the same problem. I have an egr problem, code 31, EGR control valve sensor. I have a friend that works for ford, he asked mechanics, culd be the valve, the sensor or a buncha things, but i was cleaning out my tb totally, whish was very dirty, and my gasket was bad but put it back on cuz i didnt have a new one, i do have some hesitation at low rpms, hopefully this will solve it!
nothing, ran fuel inj cleaner, cleaned out throttle body, I.A.C sensor, checked vac. lines, they r good. I can get the valve and sensor from FORD for $165
Try this; disconnect the harness at the sensor, and stick a jumper in the harness connector between the brown/white wire and the brown/light green wire. Then run the KOEO test again. Look for a code 35 (ignore all other codes, just look for a code 35). If you get a code 35, then the sensor is bad, and needs to be replaced.
