posi rear end
I was wondering if I could make my rear end a posi. Someone told me you can weld the spider gears together to make it a posi. Its a 75' ford f100, and I would like to make it posi if that is all it takes.

posi is the same thing as "limited slip". Posi is a chevy term, limited slip is a ford term. Check out howstuffworks.com and look for the axle stuff, it'll give you a good explanation of how they work.

check your trucks printed axle code (driver side door jam). i've been researching the same for my '77 F-100. looks like several mfr's make a manual activated kit. search the net for 'ford manual locker'. also found some at www.truckperformance.com
