Cummins 600 Specs

5.9L High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel engine makes 305 horsepower at 2,900 RPM and 555 pounds-feet of torque at 1,400.

Well, looks like the ole' 6.0 still has it beat!

It's rated at 325 hp and 600 lb/ft of torque. It has a very flat torque curve. It will now be available in all 50 states.

Yes, these are the correct numbers, although the torque rating is at 1600 rpms!

What makes you think that we still have the 325 hp and the 600 ft/lb of torque in our 6.0L diesels????
I have had both engines the 03 build date 2-03 and the new 04 engine build date 11-04.
when I received the 03 in March, 03 it was very quick and you could feel the power, then came the flashes and everything changed, and the 04 even through it runs good, it's still does not perform as will as the first 03 did.
I have a Friend that works for Mac Truck in Hagerstown, PA as a engineer. He told me that if you play with a diesels programing and make them sluggish or perform lazy, it will affect the Horse Power.
So until Ford gets it right I am sure we do not have the HP that the 6.0 L is advertized to have.
