Once agian I need you guys input on something. Are the Chilton and Hayes manuals as good as they advertise to help a do-it-yourself type of guy repair his vehicle. If so which one do you feel is better. Thanks...
Buzzard, I was on ebay and saw a 1999 Expedition factory service, part, maintenance & repair manual on CD. The seller claims that it is not a cheap Haynes or Chilton's manual or pirated Mitchell Repair Software. They are selling them for 24.99 w/free shipping. I think I'm leaning toward buying them. What do you think.
I've got both the factory service CD and paperback manual (it's gotta be 1,000 pages long). I use the CD ten times to one over the paper version.
I've also got a full set of Ford factory service manuals and a Chiltons for my 1968 F-250. I don't even bother with the Chiltons it is so incomplete. I did notice that many of the pictures and schematics in the Chiltons are the same as in the Ford service manuals.

I agree, plus I have found many mistakes/errors in the Chilton manuals over the years. As an example my Expy Chiltons shows a photo of a an engine bay with a 4.6L and labels it as a 5.4L and vise versa. Sloppy editing in my opinion.
