FTE brothers & sister... You know I come to you guys for everthing before I do it, so her it is. I need to know what is the best brand Bugflector and Ventvisors out. I am haveing a hard time deciding. So I would apprciate you guys opinions and input.
I use Ventshade side window vents and a Lund clear plastic contoured bug deflrector which you can barely see in my gallery pictures. The ventshades do work well although they do have a tendency every couple of years to work loose from the adhesive used to apply them. The Lund doesn't deflect many bugs from the top of the winshield where I look out, but it has caught and taken the brunt of sever rocks tha would have damaged the leading edge of the hood,, so I now call it a hood protector. If I could find the old cheap, stand up straight and tall deflectors fo the early 90's I'd get one to protect the windshield from bugs and flying debris. They really worked becaue they were tall enough, although not as pretty.
I got the same set up as TS. The only difference is mine is smoked. Works great at catching rocks! Although I still managed to catch one in the windshield! Now I need a replacement. Oh BTW.... I also have the ventvisor sunroof deflector, Well worth the $45 for it. Sunroof wide open and no noise!
They do increase and decrease in effectiveness at certain speeds...but I think the observation that they are best as hood protectors is probably true. I like to have one on my truck simply to protect the leading edge of the hood from getting chipped up from road debris and stones.
Also, at very high speeds, the bug deflector serves as a spoiler and helps with downforce to keep the truck firmly planted on the road. ;-)
You should be OK ....... the front spoiler will cause more downward force, but tire height should increase due to increased centrifugal force..... : - )
I just came across the Bugflector II and they have them painted in Ford colors.....I have 2001 wedgewood blue Expy nd I cant decide wether to o painted, clear or smoke....trying to find some pictures to see how it will look...
