Warm rolling idle.........

I have a Feb. 03 build 6.0 with a warm rolling idle. The rolling idle happens more often after long runs down the hwy and then I pull up to a stop sign, the truck will start the rolling idle maybe 50-100 rpm fluctuation. This does not happen everytime, I can go to the next stop sign and the idle will be fine. I have had the Dec. flash, changed fuel brands, changed fuel filters and I run motor craft 15-40 psd oil which I change every 4,000 miles. I was told that my truck did not have the ICP sensor recall but I am still not so sure that this is not my problem. The dealer keeps telling me to wait for another flash, well I am flashed out. Any ideas or anyone else with this problem? HELP!!!!!!!!!

cravenc,

Maybe the flash didn't take correctly the first time. I have heard of this happening on occasion. Have your dealer check it and possibly try reflashing.

If you do a search on this site on this you will get many discussions. Also have seen this same disscussion over at TDS.

Requires using a battery charger also

keep in mind, the procedures for reflashing are considerably exact, and does not allow for just anyone affecting it. Upon discussions with the tech regarding a reflashing, ask the tech just what the precise steps taken are. If he doesn't know, then talk to the person who will do the work. It appears that a battery charger must be attached when this process is affected, without which, the flashing can be, and usually does, not fully become completely affective.

talked to tech. last week when my truck was in the shop he said the flash either takes or it shows on the wds and they have do do it over. took my truck to new shop last week after several trip to dealer for mpg problem. first dealer said nothing wrong with truck took to another dealer and they found several codes in truck. which led them to replace some defected parts hoping this will solve my poor mpgs. very important to diesel tech. work on your truck, some dealerships only have one some none, most regular techs. dont know much about 6.0.
