I'm not sure if this is the right place -- but it is a Ford 4.6L modular V8, and the DPFE related posts I've read here doing reseach shows a nice communty....
I've got a 96 Tbird with a 4.6L V8 that is throwing P0401 errors. Everything seems fine other than the MIL is lit and the P0401 error codes. Physical testing of the EGR valve produces the expected results. Everything points to the DPFE sensor being the problem.
Went to replace it and found that the hoses appear to be bonded to the sensor tubes. There isn't a lot of space to work with it, and I don't want to mangle the hoses if I can help it.
Does anyone have any tips for breaking the sensor free from the hoses?
Thanks guys. I was hoping for a silver bullet. On the Tbird at least, the sensor is kind of wedged between the engine and the firewall. No real room to get pliers on them.
Will give it a shot when I can afford to have it laid up for a couple days if I do 'hose it up'.
