Is this my old 53 F100?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Jun-02 AT 02:02 AM (EST)]Hi,
I was searching the net for pictures of 53 Ford Pickups for a good wallpaper for my computer screen and came across the fordtrucks.com site.
When I opened up one of the photos in the picture gallery I couldn't believe my eyes! Possibly my old truck. I purchased an old 53 from a farmer outside of Nampa, Idaho in 1973. It had 46,000 original miles on it. I cleaned it up and restored it to an original stock 53. As I recall it had a 215 c.i. inline six cylinder.

The caption under the picture says;
"This nice 53 F100 belongs to a friend of list member Ken Craig (kencpremier1.net)". "A friend has this '53 F100 in very good original condition". "It was getting dark so the picture is just average". "When I get a chance I will take some more photos". "I am rebuilding a '59 F100 4x4".
What caught my eye was the light green color that I painted it. I went into the service in 1974 and sold it to my brother, Chris Hoalst in Boise, Idaho. He continued to restore it and actually used it as his daily driver. He eventually sold it while I was still in the service. At that time I always wanted to get it back. Oh well, ya win some and ya lose some.
If you could check with your friend on who he purchased it from, maybe I could find out if the F100 in the picture is really my old truck.
Thanks,
Steve Hoalst

P.S. I tried contacting list member Ken Craig (kencpremier1.net) via his e-mail address and kept experiencing failures???
