Install is complete and yes what a difference this 56mm makes -wasnt a big problem installing it , i just wonder for all who has done this , whats the advantage of doing away with the coolant going threw your throttlebody---ive heard in past posts alot of pros on this -and what is the idea of coolant surrounding the throttlebody thanksTR
The coolant lines are there to warm the throttle body to keep the throttle plates from sticking due to freezing temperatures. They are not there to cool the EGR, which gets only a cooled down residual exhaust charge. That is why the EGR line taps off at the rear of the engine and has the long tube, to cool the exhaust gasses.
The upside of removing them is that the intake air charge is cooler as the air is not warmed as it passes through the throttle body. Cooler air = more power. Not seat of the pants feeling power, but every pony helps.
The downside of removing them is, uhhh, well there is no downside unless you live in Alaska. My coolant lines have been gone for two years, and my EGR is installed and functional. Everything works like a champ.
BTW, I love my BBK Twin 56.
Hope this helps.
