Parts and International

I keep seeing where some refer to going to International to pick up filters, and Misc. stuff, wondering what the relationship between International and Ford Diesel was. Inform me! Thanks.

No such thing as Ford Diesel. International builds all the diesel engines used by Ford. Same as dodge uses cummins diesel engines, and gm uses isuzu.

The vast majority of parts for a Powerstroke are made by International, and are available through their parts departments for approximately 1/2 the price of the same part if purchased from Ford.
The intake and exhaust are the primary exceptions to that.

Would that include transmission, transfer case etc. as well?

i gotta tell you guys that you are lucky if your international dealer sells you stuff for half of what ford would list it for. now i dont know but i phoned ford for a price on a CPS and they told me it would be $164, now thats canadian dollars, so i took your advice and phoned the inter. dealer and he quoted me a price of $150.00
all i have to say is you guys are lucky, maybe the guy at inter was trying to pocket a few bucks from me who knows. but i guess 14 bucks in my pocket is better than in ford dealers pocket right. so i havent bought the part yet but i guess i will buy it from inter, im gonna phone another international dealer in another city and see what they come up with first.

later

Maybe you could buy one online from a US International dealer. If I remember right, my CPS through International was about $68US.

It's been two years, so I might not be remembering the price correctly, but I'm sure it was less than $90, maybe $86. Maybe I should start a distributorship, eh?

Picked up a CPS off of eBay for $49.95 using the "Buy It Now" option. It must have just been listed cause I was suprised to see it available for that low of price (most of them seem to be going for around $70.00 - $80.00). So after paying the shipping, conversion to Canadian, customs duty, and GST, it ended up costing me aprrox. $75.00 Canadian. Considerably easier on the pocket book vs $165.00. So there are deals out there....ya just gotta be patient......or lucky.

well i will keep ckecking around, there has to be something better priced than that, i will check ebay, this is the problem living where i do, right smack dab in the middle of BC, i live in a city of about 90, 000 and there is only one inter dealer and one ford dealer and nobody around unless i phone vancouver or edmonton and they are aboud 8 hrs away so i cant drive there, so they kinda got you by the short and curlys, but i usually refuse to buy things here if at all possible. wish me luck

take care

Cartwright, International only makes TRUCK diesels for Ford. Other diesels (automotive) come from various manufacturers.
