External Hydraulic pump?
I went to the local junkyard today and saw a mid 70'd f250 highboy. I was looking at the trashed truck and saw that it had an external hydraulic pump mounted on the engine with an external resevoir next to the radiator. It appeared as though the pump ran the cylinder to lift/lower the plow that once probably existed on the frame that was on the truck. Is this an aftermarket product or factory? Also do you guys think this pump could run a hydraulic winch istead of running one off of the power steering pump? thanks.

That pump may run a winch. You would have to check with the manufacturer to find out what the pressure and volume ratings were. A hydraulic pump shop could also test the pump for you.
