thats freaking crazy. coldest ive ever done was in CO in the arkansas river right before it hits twin lakes. we were campin on land in indepdence pass and we did it for a bath....MAN was it COOOOOLD. takes the breath outta you thats for sure
Actually, Dennis probably did it the smart way. Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, is the banana belt of Canada, (which means it takes a while for exposed skin to freeze - it's not instant frostbite.) Also the ocean waters of the NW can be warmer in the winter than in the summer. It takes a few months for the summer waters off Alaska to get here.
I did it once. From that day on no matter how much you try to convince me or how drunk I am the only way I will get in the water when their is snow on the ground is if somebody is drowning.
Wimps!!! I Dive in these waters 365 I just find that it's less than warm. Actually about the same temp as the Calif. coast. I don't get cold & I don't get hot... I just run my program...
