What do you think?

Got my truck lifted last week. Just uploaded pics to my gallery.

Thoughts on the lift so far with about 1000 miles:

Tires make WAYYY more noise than I thought they would
I am getting some vibration at around 68-80 mph (speedo is off now so I'm guessing) Maybe bad balance job?

Errr... 6.5" inches is taller than I thought!

Truck looks 100% better now. Totaly changed the look!!

Still has good power but it has lost some acceleration with the larger tires. A chip will cure that!

That looks great! I am installing the same package in 2 weeks except I am running 12 inch weld rims! Have you had any problems yet? It looks really good! Man I am excited now!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! Oh yeah how did it affect the ride of the truck!

truck looks great!!!!

yes... your speedo will be off with the larger tires.

chip will not fix the power problems at all.... it will make the truck more responsive, but the power can only truely be fixed with a re-gear.... something i will highly recommend.

vibration could be a balance problem, but these tires will resonate some into the steering wheel..... so the vibration may be the tread..... so... i'd say you should have a lottle vibration due to teh tire tread, but it shouldn't be too bad... if it is VERY noticable, it may be a balance issue..... large tires may be hard to balance sometimes and i have seen ppl use steering stablizer shocks to correct this.

as for the noise of the tires..... any high void tread will do this.... so it is something you will have to learn to enjoy or you may want to go to an all-terain type of treat that will be less noisy or even a street tire tread that will hopefully sound like a stock tire.

I am having the dual steering stabilizer installed as well! Will that take up alot of the vibration factor?

What do you think?

imo a stablizer fixes things that shouldn't be broken.....

that is on-road... in off-road conditions a stablizer would help you control steering... but with our heavy trucks, it is hard to get that much spped up off-road to fully take advantage of one....

i think most ppl do it for looks.... and if you liek that look great! but if it is used to correct balance issues, steering issues, etc.... i'd rather have the problem corrected than use the stablizer as a band-aid!

What do you think?

Thanks everyone!

I don't really mind the tire noise....just a little louder than expected.

As for the vibration... It's not in the Steering Wheel... It seems to be coming from the right rear ... at speed I can feel it and the passenger seat even rocks back and forth with the vibration... I think it's a balance issue .. I hope it's not a driveline problem. I am pretty sure it's not just the tread vibrating.

Do you think I should go with a 4.10 gear? I have to replace both front and rear, right? What does that cost?

I am gonna chip it for sure... just haven't decided which one to use... The WD Tri-Power looks pretty cool but I like the no tamper results of the SCMT.

Looks great!

A quick way to check your vibration is to move that tire/rim to another location.

For your tire noise, check the air pressure & adjust if necessary. You'd be suprised at how much that can make a difference.
